POWER Act introduced to address rising data center energy demands

(WAND) - Illinois Sen. Ram Villivalam joined advocates with the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition on Wednesday to introduce the POWER Act.

This legislation would establish guardrails to protect water, energy and ratepayers from the threats posed by data centers.

The coalition said data centers are increasing utility bills, threatening the climate, polluting our air and wasting massive amounts of water.

Advocates stated this will help lower consumer energy bills.
