TOLONO, Ill. (WAND) — Two parks in Tolono have been vandalized over the past several weeks.
The park district says both West Side Park and East Side Park had damage done that will result in "costly repairs, facility closures, and staff time that could be used for improvements rather than cleanup."
At West Side Park, the parking lot was damaged by a car doing donuts. Two restrooms were vandalized and the tire swing was damaged beyond repair.Â
There were also rocks thrown on the baseball field that required "extra labor" to clear before scheduled games.Â
At East Side Park, more restrooms were vandalized by graffiti. The toilet paper and paper towel holders were broken, and the toilets were stuffed with paper.
Wet paper towels were also thrown on the walls and ceiling.Â
The park district says suspicious behavior should be reported by calling the police or emailing info@tolonoparks.org.
