DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Innovafeed is pausing operations at its Decatur facility. 

Economic Development Corporation of Decatur-Macon County President Nicole Bateman confirmed the suspension of operations to WAND News Tuesday.

Bateman also shared that employees were relocated "when possible" to minimize the number of job losses, and the impact is said to affect a "handful of people." 

The move will allow Innovafeed to continue bolstering its commercial operations, and the suspension should only last about "a year or two," according to Bateman. 

Innovafeed is based in France, and the Decatur site was the company's first international facility.
