An Iroquois County couple is sent to prison and must back pay almost $5 million for a fraud scheme.

Mikel and Dianne Freeman of Milford both pled guilty to money laundering, bank fraud, and embezzlement. Mikel served as president for a company called A-Way Grain, Inc. Dianne worked at First Trust and Savings Bank in Watseka. The two admitted they conspired to carry out a scheme to defraud.

Among the victims: A-Way Grain and its stockholders, two central Illinois banks, the Illinois Grain Insurance Fund, area farmers, and A-Way Grain employees.
