BEAVERVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man has been arrested and charged with murder after police found his family member dead inside a Beaverville home.

The Iroquois County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called out for a welfare check in the 100 block of S. Bower Rd. Sunday.

Deputies were met with Anthony Esposito, 54. After a short conversation, deputies said they learned a family member of Esposito’s was dead inside the home.

Esposito was arrested and taken to the Iroquois County Jail and charged with First-Degree Murder, where he remains in custody.

The coroner's office said an autopsy of the victim is scheduled in Bloomington on Wednesday.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
