NEWMAN, Ill. (WAND) — A man has been booked for first degree murder in relation to a death investigation in Newman, a small town in Douglas County.
Douglas County State’s Attorney Robert Kosic confirmed that James W. Haynes was booked in the Douglas County Jail on murder charges.
Police were called to the 300 block of S. Shirley St. early Monday morning. No information about the victim has been released yet.
Kosic said charges would be formally filed Monday or Tuesday.
