Migrants continue to flow into Illinois

CHICAGO (WAND) — The number of migrants being shipped into Illinois from Texas continues to grow putting a strain on housing and other services in the city of Chicago.

“The Republican governor and the various mayors in Texas that want to cause problems for other cities continue to try to do that,” said Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker on Thursday.

Pritzker pointed out Texas buses immigrants to Democratic cities and states. He went on to note Texas does not send those immigrants to locations controlled by Republicans.

Pritzker says most immigrants want jobs and want to work. He added employers want to hire them to fill job openings. He added the Biden Administration will be providing work authorizations so thousands of those seeking asylum can obtain jobs.
