(WAND) - June 23 is National Hydration Day, and it is gearing up to be one of the hottest days of the year so far.Â
Highs are expected in the mid-90s again (96° in Decatur), but the humidity will make it feel like 100°-110°.
National Hydration Day is an annual event focused on promoting the importance of staying hydrated and making healthy choices related to water intake.Â
The general recommendation is for men to drink about 15.5 cups of fluids per day. Women are recommended to drink about 11.5 cups per day. This includes water from all sources, including both beverages and food. Individual needs many vary based on factors like overall health, activity level, and climate.Â
You can mark National Hydration Day by carrying a reusable water bottle, setting reminders to drink water throughout the day, and incorporating hydrating foods into your diet.Â
