CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) – The murder of millions of Jews and others by the Nazis before and during World War II is the focus of a new traveling Holocaust exhibit called “The Courage to Remember.”
The exhibit opened Monday at the Marketplace Shopping Center in Champaign. It is made up of 40 display panels, using rare photos and personal stories which illustrate the consequences of hate and indifference.
Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish human rights organization based in Los Angeles, developed the exhibit.
The exhibit reinforces the importance of education to combat efforts to erase history and trivialize the lessons of the atrocity.
“The Courage to Remember” will remain open until Nov. 1 and is located inside the Marketplace Shopping Center near Macy’s.
