PARIS, Ill. (WAND) - A woman who died after walking across a street in Paris was hit by a county dump truck, according to a Paris Police Department crash report.

The crash happened on Nov. 17 around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wood Street and Central Avenue.

The Champaign County Coroner said last week that 67-year-old Teresa Bradley of Paris died at the hospital after a collision at the intersection. However, details about the crash had not been made publicly available.

WAND News obtained information about the crash via a Freedom of Information Act request. Last week, WAND News attempted to get information from the police chief but his voicemail stated he was out of the office for the next several days.

According to a review of the case report by WAND News, police said Bradley had a walk signal at the intersection when the driver of the dump truck, Dawson Watson, began to make a turn through the intersection. As Bradley was halfway across the street, the walk signal turned to a blinking do not walk signal.

She was hit by the truck and, according to police, hit her head on the pavement. She died at the hospital about 12 hours later, according to a statement from the coroner.

Dawson was not hurt.

Police cited Dawson for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. It's not clear if additional charges might be filed. He's due in court next month.

WAND News has left a message for Edgar County Highway Department Chief Engineer Aaron Lawson.

It's not clear if Dawson is still employed by the county.
