DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Dimitri, a Russian Rat Snake, from the Scovill Zoo visited the WAND news studio on August 5.

Dimitri is 9 years old. Rat snakes can live in human care for 15-20 years. They are good at climbing and swimming. While everyone may not be a fan of snakes, they are crucial to our ecosystem. 

The Scovill Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
