SHELBYVILLE, Ill. (WAND)-The Shelby County Dive Team has officially started rebuilding with the appointment of three new members to the Public Safety Committee.
During Thursday night's Shelby County Board meeting, discussions between former dive team members, board member Tad Mayhall, and board member Sonny Ross, led to changes to the committee that were recommended by Ross and then made by county board chairman Robert Orman with a majority board vote.
Conversations led to reestablishing trust between the Shelby County Board and the Public Safety Committee to once again operate under the county.
Shelby County has been without a home-based dive team since July 12th, 2023.
Board members Carol Cole, Tim Morse, and Tad Mayhall were added to the Public Safety Committee, with Mayhall serving as chairman of the committee, replacing outgoing board member Cody Brands.
