MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) – The St. Louis Cardinals are planning to meet with fans in Mattoon soon after the new year starts.
Lake Land College has announced it will host the St. Louis Cardinals Caravan on Sunday, Jan. 20. Doors will open at 11 a.m. before the event starts at noon in the Lake Land College Field House.
The Caravan will include some current players, broadcasters and alumni. The list of players who are coming has not been announced.
Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased either at the Laker Athletics office in the Field House, through Washington Savings Bank or at the door on the day of. The ticket office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday through Dec. 21 and on Jan. 2 and 3. Hours will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 4 before the 8 to 5 schedule returns after that date.
The first 400 children children at age 15 and under who attend will get an autograph ticket, which guarantees an autograph from each current and former player, the college says. Only people in that age range will be able to get autographs because of high demand.
