DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A state-of-the-art nursing simulation center at Millikin University has enhanced training for the next generation of nursing students.

The Campbell Family Nursing Simulation Center is a cutting-edge facility designed to prepare nursing students for real-world challenges in healthcare. Kelly Slade APRN-FPA, MSN is an instructor and said being in the simulator makes learning easier and more comfortable for students.
"They (lab patients) have pulses, they breathe, they can talk," she said.
The simulation lab has advanced technology, including high-fidelity patient simulators that mimic real-life medical scenarios. The lab will simulate critical care situations to routine medical procedures. Slade said the center allows students to practice and refine their skills in a safe and controlled setting.
"We want you to make mistakes. We want you to see you do things maybe not right the first time, and we will talk about it afterward."
