SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A plan led by state Republicans to require more training and awareness for celiac disease passed the House unanimously.

The proposal would require all hospitality workers to receive training about what celiac disease is and how to stop gluten contamination into gluten free food.
State Sen. Sally Turner (R-Lincoln) said the state should support people with celiac disease.
"It's interesting when you go to a restaurant and some don't have a menu for celiac disease," Turner said. "Sometimes the servers don't even know what it is, so I think this awareness is a really good thing so we can fully understand it ourselves and also people working in the industries."
With the bill passing out the House unanimously, it will now head to the Governor's office where he could potentially sign the policy into law.
