Pasqal announcement

Pasqal CEO Loic Henriet speaks alongside Gov. JB Pritzker during a press conference in Chicago on October 9, 2025.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Another quantum computing company is moving to Illinois. Pasqal will establish its U.S. headquarters at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park in Chicago.

The French tech company plans to invest more than $65 million and create 50 full-time jobs for the future headquarters. Gov. JB Pritzker said this move will help power the next generation of discovery and economic growth in Illinois.

"It is the anchor of the quantum ecosystem in France and throughout the rest of Europe," Pritzker said Thursday. "Its customers include giants in aerospace, energy, defense and technology like BMW, Siemens and LG."

Pasqal builds and commercializes quantum computers powered by neutral atom technology. The company received a $15 million loan from the Illinois Finance Authority Climate Bank to support this project.

"We are planting seeds of a future where science and technology will provide solutions to challenges that we feel are impossible to meet today," said Charlotte Montel, Consul General of France.

This comes a week after the governor and other state leaders broke ground on PsiQuantum's state-of-the-art facility on the south side of Chicago. Pasqal will join PsiQuantum, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, IBM, Infleqtion, and Diraq at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park.

"By leveraging our presence in Canada and the American scientific and industrial communities, we aim to foster synergies that bring together the best of research, innovation and industrial expertise across the continent," said Pasqal CEO Loïc Henriet.

Pasqal also received support from the state's MICRO program, which provides incentives for companies that manufacture microchips, semiconductors, and quantum computers, along with research and development.
