Champaign, IL - The University of Illinois extension service may be forced to close some offices due to budget cuts.
An extension spokesman says a dozen extension offices around the state would close. Their operations could be run out of county offices, or even from employee's homes. The service is trying to save money without cutting programs.
The U of I is reviewing a number of departments, including extension operations, as it looks for ways to cope with cuts in state funding.
