Winning lotto ticket sold in Bloomington, not yet claimed

PONTIAC, Ill. (WAND) - A 103-year-old woman has left a Central Illinois retirement community a huge gift from her will, $2.4 million.

E. Ruth Harris, a former schoolteacher, left the money to Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac, the Chicago Tribune reports.

She was described as frugal, and she lived modestly up until her death on Jan. 9, 2017.

Harris was never a resident at Evenglow, but her family toured the facility several decades ago.

Her parents were looking for a place for her sister who had a developmental disability. Her sister died before she could live there, but Evenglow's pledge to help made an impact on Harris.

Evenglow has not yet decided how the money will be spent, but several buildings need repairs.

Harris had given smaller donations to Evenglow in the past, normally around $100 a year.
