URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — A woman who was arrested for a March DUI crash that killed a 2-month-old baby and injured several others has entered a plea of guilty. 

Kartila Brooks was arrested on April 11 on charges of aggravated DUI and DUI - drugs.

The crash happened on March 13 at the intersection of Philo Road and Colorado Avenue in Urbana. According to police, Brooks was traveling on Colorado Avenue when she failed to stop at an intersection. This caused a crash that led to the death of a 2-month-old. In addition, the baby's two siblings and mother were taken to a hospital with injuries.

Illinois State Police conducted drug testing as part of their investigation and results from Brooks' tests showed that her blood contained THC over the legal limit.

In court, Brooks pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated DUI causing death. Three other counts were dismissed as part of a plea deal. 

She will be sentenced on February 10 at 11 a.m.
