DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois basketball legend Dee Brown spoke to the media Tuesday afternoon about his memories of the 2005 Final Four, the last time the Illini had a chance to win the national championship.
Brown said, unlike in 2005, the players need to focus on preparation because of all the social media noise around them.
Head Coach Brad Underwood said he's received texts and calls from members of the 2005 team since they punched their ticket to Indianapolis.
The Illini will face UConn in the Final Four Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium. Tip-off is set for 5:09 CT. If they win and advance, they'll face the winner of Michigan-Arizona in the national championship on Monday Night.
