CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois star freshman Keaton Wagler continues stacking the accolades.Â
Wagler was named to the John R. Wooden Award late midseason top 20 watch list on Tuesday, according to Illinois Athletics.Â
He is one of two freshmen averaging at least 17 points, five rebounds and four assists this season, and is fifth in scoring in Big Ten play with 20.8 points per game.Â
The Wooden Award recognizes the top player in men's and women's basketball.
U of I Athletics said voters will decide their top 10 of the 15 options on the national ballot when voting opens during the NCAA Tournament.
The Wooden Award's All-American Team will be released around the Elite Eight.Â
