CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Illinois volleyball revealed its nonconference schedule on Wednesday, featuring a total of nine matches, including two at Huff Hall.
The season kicks off with a neutral-site game against South Dakota State at Northern Iowa on August 29. Following that, the Illini will face Vanderbilt in the inaugural Broadway Block Party at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on August 31, marking just the second match ever for the Commodore program.
The team will also make visits to Notre Dame on September 5 and 2024 NCAA runner-up Louisville on September 7, before heading to Illinois State for a tournament from September 12-14, where they will compete against Cincinnati, Miami (Fla.), and the hosting Redbirds.
To wrap up their nonconference play, the Fighting Illini will host Iowa State on September 19 and Eastern Illinois on September 21 at Huff Hall for a weekend doubleheader. Under the leadership of head coach Chris Tamas, who is entering his ninth season in 2025, Illinois volleyball has achieved a 149-94 record and made five NCAA Tournament appearances.
