CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Illinois Football will turn back the clock when it hosts Michigan this season.
The Illini will rededicate Memorial Stadium on Oct. 19, 100 years and one day after Red Grange’s historic six-touchdown performance against the Wolverines during the Memorial Stadium Dedication Game in 1924.
The Illini will wear 1920s-themed uniforms to commemorate the 100th anniversary of that game.
Representing 100 years of history, tradition and passion. For Memorial Stadium's Rededication Game on Oct. 19, we will wear special uniforms to commemorate the iconic performance of the Galloping Ghost, Red Grange, in the stadium's Dedication Game against Michigan in 1924.… pic.twitter.com/JFsBqgThd2

The helmets, jerseys, and pants are all designed to mirror the attire worn by Grange and the Fighting Illini during that time.
