(WAND) - In his fifth season since making his MLB debut, Los Angeles Angels reliever Reid Detmers has consistently been performing at a high level.

As of July 6, Detmers has struck out 31 batters in 21 innings in his last 21 games. He has yet to surrender an earned run.

The team as a whole has had a difficult season, resting at fourth place in the American League West standings. Individually, however, Detmers' success as a bullpen pitcher is undeniable. He's recorded 2 saves in 36 appearances so far in this year's campaign.

The 2025 season is the first year Detmers has not been a starting pitcher. From 2022-2024 he started each of his 60 appearances holding an MLB career ERA of 4.81.

In May of 2022, Detmers became the youngest player in Angels franchise history to throw a no-hitter. In a 12-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, he threw 108 pitches and struck out 2 batters to cement himself in the history books.

Three years later, while his role may be different, Detmers is still a formidable foe on the diamond.

The Glenwood graduate and Nokomis native was picked 10th overall by the Angels in the 2020 MLB Draft. He went on to pitch at Louisville before making the transition to professional baseball.
