DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Our nation's 249th birthday celebration is right around the corner. Whether or not you are planning on taking in any area fireworks displays, WAND weather has your back. Â
Temperatures across the nation, mainly in the West, have been warming. You can see on the map that northern areas of the Rockies and the Great Basin are in the 90s, and that stretches into Canada. Â
So, as that air travels in a general west-to-east fashion, 90+ degree heat will be here for Friday. Â
By the evening hours, if you're settling in for the so-called red, white & boom, expect muggy weather with temps in the 80s and a few cloud patches. Â
