DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - After a pleasant start to the week, our next chance for showers and storms is on the horizon again.Â
For tonight, we remain under clear skies and quiet conditions. This sets up the radiational cooling machine, sending overnight lows into the 40s. This dry air that keeps us dry and clear tonight will dominate the first half of our day tomorrow.Â
Clouds gradually build in throughout the midday and afternoon tomorrow ahead of the cold front. We remain to the south of the warm front, which will roll through earlier in the day, but it will bring temperatures into the upper 70s tomorrow afternoon. The dry air exiting the region will likely hold off rain until late tomorrow.
By 9 p.m., a fast-moving round of heavy rain and thunder will sweep through, but by midnight, we should be drying out. The severe weather threat is present but low, and the primary concern will be with strong winds.Â
Have a great night.Â
