STORM REPORTS.JPG

(WAND) -  Several reports of tornadoes have already been confirmed across central Illinois from earlier today. The National Weather Service will likely be sending survey crews out over the coming days to get an exact number along with intensity.

While most of the storms were located near and north of I-72, there was a tornado near Oakland in Coles County as well.

As for now, the threat of severe weather is over and shifts toward cleanup. Area residents will combat a push of early April chill. Gusty winds over the next couple of days will exacerbate said chill.

Stay warm and safe when checking on family, friends and neighbors.
