217 Day event to spotlight local businesses, entrepreneurs

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Local companies, entrepreneurs, creators and more are invited to display their products and services at the upcoming 217 Day.

The event will take place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at MacArthur High School.

This is the first year the event is organized by nonprofit Illinois Business Builders.

Illinois Business Builders President Honore Holmes said this will help both local vendors and guests see what resources are provided for the community.

"It's very important to have events like this in the small 217 region. We don't have very many events that expose small businesses and what they have to offer, and so it gives us a different outlook on the different resources and the different opportunities we have right here in our community," Holmes said.

Vendors and businesses are still being accepted online.
