ARCOLA, Ill. (WAND) — Arcola is sweeping in a weekend of fun with their 54th annual Broomcorn Festival kicking off Friday.

The streets will be lined with a variety of vendors, including a tent selling brooms. There is also live music and a national broom sweeping contest.

"When I think about the Broomcorn Festival, we are rooted in traditions," said festival Director Angie Miller. "We've had booths that have been here for 40 years. People come back for their festival favorites year after year."

There is a long lineup of events running throughout the festival. It will close out with a free live concert featuring America's Got Talent winner Richard Goodall.

The Broomcorn Festival runs from Friday to Sunday. A full schedule can be found on the festival's website.
