SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Buzz Bomb Brewing Company in Springfield is holding an event Wednesday night to raise funds to offset financial hardships following the devastating Adams Street fire.Â
The fire on June 19, 2024 destroyed buildings lining the 400 block.Â
"In the past 18 months since the Adams Street fire, we have faced extraordinary circumstances and challenges. The wave of business closures downtown this past year should make it clear that we're all struggling and Buzz Bomb is no exception unfortunately," Buzz Bomb posted to Facebook.
The business said it has been able to release fewer beers and have struggled through equipment issues that have knocked brewing capacity to barely 20 percent of the normal.
They said their second floor HVAC has also recently gone out.
"With our finances stretched thin, we've got no way to address either of these problems," they posted.Â
