SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - While some of us are not fans of the cold, we can still enjoy some frosty celebrations.

The Illinois State Museum in Springfield will host its second annual Freeze Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

It is a celebration of all things winter and cold, including activities like a scavenger hunt and painting with ice.

The goal is to teach participants something new about state animals.

"We'd love if they walked away with a renewed interest of the wildlife that we have here in Illinois and how those animals spend the winter. We know that bears hibernate, but there's a lot of other animals and they spend the winter in different ways," said Cori Claycomb, curator of art and history at the museum.

Admission to the event is free.
