DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held its annual Holiday Market to benefit the hospital, welcoming hundreds of customers.
Attendees enjoyed a 20% discount on gift shop merchandise, holiday drink samples, free soup samples and mixes for purchase, holiday music from local musicians and more.
A free holiday gift was given to the first 50 paying customers. There were also raffle drawings for a grand prize of a VIP cart experience at Trees on the Tee, four tickets to a show of your choice at the Devon and a $150 Svendsen Winter Floral gift certificate.
But customers could also give back with their purchases. A portion of the money spent will be awarded back to the hospital to fund new equipment.
"It's just such a fulfilling way to give back to not only the community, but to the hospital itself. So something to think about, especially at this time of the year when people are trying to decide how do they get back? And this would be a great way for them to do that," said Paul Lidy, Director for the Decatur Memorial Hospital Foundation.
