TUSCOLA, Ill. (WAND) — Looking for something sweet for your special someone? Flesor's Candy Kitchen in Tuscola is fully-stocked and ready to spread the love for Valentine's Day.
Flesor's Candy Kitchen was opened by Greek immigrant Gus Flesor in 1901, and now, 125 years later, his granddaughter Devon Flesor Story co-owns the business.
She is a third-generation confectioner, and said the ins and outs of candy making were passed down from generation to generation.Â
"We are unique in that we're still making our own candy by hand, and we're one of the few left in the country doing that," she said.
All of Flesor's candies are hand-dipped, made from locally-sourced ingredients and following recipes more than 100 years old.Â
"This place was iconic to our small downtown for many, many years. We grew up in the candy business — my brother, sister and I — and here we are in 2026 doing it some more," Story said.
So, if you're waiting until the last minute to get your loved one a Valentine's gift, Flesor's will be there. They will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14.Â
