DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The start date of the Macon County Health Department's Diabetes Self-Management Program has been postponed by two weeks.Â
The program was originally set to begin Thursday, but was delayed to give community members extra time to register.
The sessions will take place from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Macon County Health Department on the following Thursdays:
- June 4
- June 11
- June 18
- June 25
- July 2
- July 9
According to the MCHD, participants will learn how to properly communicate with healthcare professionals. manage symptoms, build confidence, eat healthier and monitor their blood sugar.Â
Classes will free and open to all affected by diabetes.Â
