SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A new community advocacy group is holding its first meeting this week.Â
The PURPLE (People United for Reform, Power, Liberation and Equity) Coalition will hold the meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the Rotunda of the Old State Capitol in Springfield.Â
The group said in a press release that its mission is to help confront community misconduct and fight for accountability in these issues.Â
The coalition is led by a group of local activists and community leaders, and the meeting will touch on the purpose of the group and its plans moving forward.Â
