SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) is working to make sure seniors in long-term care facilities feel loved this Valentine's Day.Â
He is hosting his annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive.Â
"We want to make sure that seniors living in long-term care facilities receive cards and notes from people who care throughout the community," Senator McClure said. "Our hope is to show the seniors that their community is thinking about them."Â
Students, scout groups, churches, and other groups are encouraged to make homemade cards that will be delivered to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term facilities throughout the 54th Senate District.Â
Cards can be dropped off from now until February 6 at McClure's Montgomery County district office, 410 N. Monroe St., Suite 200, in Litchfield, or his Effingham County district office, 208 N. 4th St., Suite B, in Effingham.Â
They can also be dropped off at his Capitol complex office, which is located in A-section of the Stratton Building in Springfield. There will be a drop box inside each office during normal business hours, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.Â
