DECATUR, IL- The Decatur Police Department's Street Crimes Unit arrested two people in Mt. Zion Wednesday after conducting a prostitution sting.

According to sworn statements, a police detective had several phone conversation with a woman suspected of being a prostitute. The detective set up a meeting with the woman, who went by the alias "Cotton Candy" at a home in Mt. Zion.

Police say an undercover officer met with the woman at her home in the 100 block of West Roberts Drive in Mt. Zion just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The woman, later identified as 53 year-old Carla Johnson, allegedly agreed to exchange sex for money and was placed under arrest.

After being read her rights, police say Johnson told them she had another appointment with a man scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

Police say as they were escorting Johnson from her home, they saw a SUV slowly drive past and look inside Johnson's home. Police pulled over the SUV and questioned the driver, 61 year-old Robert Wraight.

According to sworn statements, Wraight told officers that he was going to Johnson's home to pay her $200 for sex. Wraight told officers that he had met with Johnson on two other occasions and both times he paid Johnson $200 for sex.

Wraight is listed as the Superintendent of Public Works on the Village of Morton's  website. At the time of his arrest, Wraight was driving a Morton Village vehicle. He also told police that he was on duty at the time of the incident.

Morton is about 10 miles southeast of Peoria and about 80 miles northwest of Mt. Zion.

Wraight has been charged with solicitation of a prostitute and official misconduct. Johnson is charged with prostitution and keeping a place of prostitution. Both are being held on $5,000 bond.
