DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - It has been six and a half years since 20-year-old Taniyah Williams and 21-year-old LaTrey Reed were shot and killed in Danville. Now, police said they have arrested the person responsible for their murders. 

Danville police announced Tuesday they have made an arrest in the July 5, 2018 homicides. 

Dakota Patton, 29, of Danville, has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. 

Reed and Williams were found dead inside a home in the 1300 block of 

Lape Street after officers responded to a 4:15 a.m. call reporting an unresponsive man. Both victims had been shot. 

Both Reed and Williams lived at the home.
