Mosquito Larvae

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The Christian County Health Department announced Tuesday that it had identified a second mosquito sample positive for West Nile Virus. 

According to the health department, the sample was collected Aug. 3 and was tested the following day. 

This comes after the department identified its first West Nile virus-positive mosquitoes collected on July 20 in Taylorville.

CCHD said it will continue to monitor and test mosquitoes for the virus throughout the county.
