DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A man charged in an Easter Sunday shooting from 2025 was sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

According to Macon County court records, Caiden Brittain must also serve one year of mandatory supervised release. 

He will receive credit for time served from May 1, 2025, through April 28, 2026. 

Brittain was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting April 20 on Church Street that injured a man's leg so badly that he had to have a steel rod inserted, according to police.
