DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A Decatur Moves rider who shot at one of its transit vans during an argument in February has pleaded guilty.Â
According to Macon County court records, Javonta Donley pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm, while three other charges were dropped.Â
According to Decatur Public Transit, a Decatur Moves vehicle was shot at Feb. 6 near the intersection of North Portage Place and East Mound Road shortly after dropping off two passengers.
A sworn statement said that Donley and another man, Devon Garrison, were getting a ride through the Decatur Moves program.Â
An investigation revealed that both men began arguing as Donley got out of the van.Â
Police said Donley then shot at Garrison, who then shot back.Â
Donley and Garrison ran from the scene but were later taken into custody.
He will be sentenced on July 7.Â
