DECATUR Ill. (WAND) — Illinois State Police special agents arrested a 50-year-old Decatur man they say downloaded over 3,800 files containing child pornography from the internet.Â
Harry O. Shull was arraigned Wednesday on 10 counts of child pornography possession, according to Macon County Court records. He was denied pre-trial release and remains in custody at the Macon County Jail.Â
A sworn affidavit of Shull's arrest says ISP traced files he downloaded in July that had 3,474 videos and images of child sexual abuse to his IP address.Â
Another set of files downloaded to the IP address in September had 336 videos and images of children being sexually abused, according to the affidavit.Â
ISP special agents carried out a search warrant at Shull's house on Tuesday. Shull admitted to the agents that he's viewed and downloaded child pornography on his home computer, the affidavit said.
State police said a laptop in Shull's bedroom had child pornography involving a "prepubescent female" downloaded at the time of the search.Â
Shull was also arraigned Wednesday on charges that he illegally possessed two firearms that were found in his house during the ISP search.Â
He is due back in court on November 19.Â
