DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — The Danville Police Department has arrested a man it believes is connected to a non-fatal stabbing on Thursday.

Officers arrived to the 2100 block of E. Main Street around 6:15 p.m. and found a 47-year-old man who had been stabbed. He was airlifted to Urbana, where he's currently listed in stable condition according to DPD.

Based on witness information, officers arrested Daniel Kist, 41, about nine blocks away from the stabbing location. Kist was booked on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. 

The department thanked the community in a release, and said that information provided by witnesses was vital to the investigation.
