URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - A trial of a man convicted of killing two women in a drunk driving crash in Urbana last year has been moved to September.Â
Court records stated that Julio Cucul-Bol appeared in federal court on Friday and learned his jury trial will begin Sept. 1.Â
Federal court records show that Cucul-Bol is charged with four crimes, including possession of a false permanent resident card, a false Social Security card, making a false statement on an application and false use of a passport.Â
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.Â
Police said the crash happened Jan. 19, 2025, at the intersection of University Avenue and Coler Avenue in Urbana when Cucul-Bol rear-ended a vehicle that had slowed for a traffic light.
Two passengers died from their injuries in the crash, as police said Cucul-Bol fled the scene without stopping. He was eventually arrested in Texas.Â
Cucul-Bol will remain in the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections.Â
