DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A Danville man was arrested on gun charges Wednesday.Â
The Danville Police Department stopped a man at The Grove community housing complex in the 1100 block of Fowler Ave. around 5:15 p.m.Â
Police said they recognized the person from previous information described during a shots fired call. CHU officers identified the person as 21-year-old Davaris Jackson of Danville. Officers learned through their investigation that Jackson was wanted on a Vermilion County warrant that included gun charges.
During the arrest of Jackson, CHU officers said they found a loaded gun on him. Officers said Jackson did not have an Illinois Concealed Carry License.
Jackson was arrested, transported to the Public Safety Building, and booked on charges of being Wanted on a Warrant, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
