CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Former Illini Devon Witherspoon, Tommy DeVito, and Vederian Lowe will play in Super Bowl LX after Sunday's wins in the NFC and AFC Championships.

Witherspoon of the Seattle Seahawks will face off against DeVito and Lowe of the New England Patriots on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara.

Witherspoon is one of the most decorated players in Illinois history. He was the 21st Consensus All-American in Illinois history, the Illini's first Thorpe Award finalist, and the highest drafted defensive back in Illinois history when he went No. 5 overall to Seattle in 2023. In December, he joined Dick Butkus as the only Illini in program history to earn Pro Bowl selections in each of their first three seasons in the NFL.

DeVito was Illinois' starting quarterback in 2022 during his one season in Champaign after transferring from Syracuse. He led the Fighting Illini to a break 8-win season and appearance in the ReliaQuest Bowl, while setting the Illinois record and ranking fourth in the nation in completion percentage (69.6%). DeVito totaled 2,650 passing yards and 21 touchdowns (15 passing, 6 rushing) during the 2022 season.

Lowe spent five years in Champaign from 2017-21, leaving tied for the Illinois all-time record for career starts with 52. He started the final 46 consecutive games of his career and earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors in each of his final two seasons. Lowe was drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings and has played in 50 career NFL games with Minnesota (2022) and New England (2023-25).

Super Bowl LX is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8 at 5:40 p.m. CT at Levi’s Stadium.
