UPDATE: The Pana School District announced that the soft lockdown was lifted around 12 p.m.

PANA, Ill. (WAND) — Pana Junior High School was placed under a soft lockdown after a "statement" was found written on a bathroom stall Thursday.

According to a Facebook post from Pana CUSD 8, school officials were told about a "short statement" written on a bathroom stall at PJHS.

The school district said there was no immediate threat, and it is unknown when the message was written or how long it has been on the stall. Officials have not shared what the message said.

The school was under a soft lockdown while administration and the Pana Police Department investigate.
