SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A 61-year-old motorcyclist died after being involved in a crash with a motor vehicle in Springfield, according to the Sangamon County Coroner.Â
The crash happened near the intersection of Peoria Road and Sangamon Avenue. That is by the Illinois State Fairgrounds.Â
The coroner's office said the man was taken to HSHS St. John's Hospital and died shortly after arrival.
His identity will not be released until family is notified.Â
It is unclear how the crash started and who else was involved.Â
WAND News reached out to Springfield police for more details, but has not heard back.Â
The crash is still under investigation.Â
