CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The City of Champaign is informing the community of upcoming temporary road closures ahead of the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon Race Weekend.

According to the City, the closures will take place in stages beginning Thursday and running (pun intended) through Saturday. 

This weekend's closures are as follows:

  • Thursday (Green Street Mile) - First Street between Kirby Avenue and Green Street; Green Street between First Street and Neil Street, closed before and during race; 6:30-8 p.m.
  • Friday (4th Mile/27th Mile) - Kirby Avenue between First Street and Fourth Street, closed all weekend; 1 p.m.
  • Friday (5K) - Oak Street, Gregory Drive, First Street, Green Street, Sixth Street, closed before and during race, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday (Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10K) - Several streets in Champaign-Urbana and Savoy, closed before and during race; 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.
