A popular Downtown Springfield business has announced it will close its doors after eight years.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A popular Downtown Springfield business has announced it will close its doors after eight years.

Buzz Bomb Brewing Company announced on Facebook Friday that its final night will be New Year's Eve.

"We are really proud ... humbled ... and grateful for the support of the Buzz community and especially our Good Customers. We never expected to build such a fierce and loyal community and we cannot thank you enough for being here with us on this journey," the business said in the post.

Before closing, Buzz Bomb said that it will have several live shows, comedy and trivia nights, and a movie night.

The business held an event last month to raise money following the Adams Street fire that destroyed several downtown businesses in June 2024.

At the time, it stated that it struggled with equipment issues, which had knocked brewing capacity down 20% of the normal.

Buzz Bomb's full menu and calendar of events are online.
